Ingredients

--Pâte sablée--
200gr softened butter (room temp)
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
3 cups all-purpose flour
-----------------------------------------------

--Crème pâtissière--
1/2 litre milk
100 g sugar
5 egg yolks
60 g flour
1/2 ts vanilla
-------------------------------------

--Strawberry topping--
1 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 ts vanilla
1/2 kilo strawberry cut in halves
1 TBS corn flour disolved in 2 TBS water

Cooking Instructions

--Pâte sablée--
Mix the sugar with the butter then add the egg, mix then add the flour, keep kneading till you get a dough. Spread the dough into apropriate shallow pan and make holes all over it with a fork then bake at 175c for 15 min. and set aside.

--Crème pâtissière--
1- Warm the milk and add into it the vanilla.
2- Whisk the egg yolks with the sugar till sugar is completely disolved
3- Whisk the flour into the egg/sugar mixture little by little so you don't get lumbs.
4- Whisk in the milk little by little and put the mixture on low fire and keep whisking till you get a nice creamy texture.

--Strawberry topping--
Warm the water, add the sugar and vanilla and whisk till sugar is disolved only then add the strawberry and simmer on low for 2 min, add then the disolved corn flour and simmer for additional 1 min and set aside.

--Putting it alltogether--
Spread the Crème pâtissière onto the baked Pâte sablée and then pour the strawberry mixture on top and arrange the strawberries for a nice presentation, let cool before serving.
