1 cup rice

American long grain or Jasmin:
1 cup rice
2 cups water
2 TBS butter
1 Tbs oil
1/2 Maggi chicken cube
Basmati or Beryani:
Wash rice several times till water is clear, keep rice soaked in water for 30 minutes (this will result in a longer grain when cooked).
Melt butter in a skillet, add the rice and cook for several minutes till rice dries from water and soaks the oils then add the water and bring to a boil, cover and simmer on low for 17 min, turn off fire, keep lid closed for another 15 min, uncover and gently fluff the rice with a fork.
American long grain or Jasmin:
Same method as Basmati except don't soak in water and simmer on low for 20 min.
