Nick's Slow Cooker Barbecue Chilli Ribs: Submitted by: Nicolas Zouein | Date Added: 24 May 2015 Ingredients:

"An easy and delicious way to prepare tender barbecued ribs without the barbecue!"

Original recipe makes 8 servings

4 pounds pork baby back ribs
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups ketchup
1 cup chili sauce (Heinz)
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons vinegar
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 dash hot sauce

Cooking Instructions:

1.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
2.Season ribs with salt and pepper. Place in a shallow baking pan. Brown in oven 15 minutes. Turn over, and brown another 15 minutes; drain fat. Or you can fry the ribs to sear the meat instead of putting it in the oven, both ways will work.
3.In a medium bowl, mix together the ketchup, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, oregano, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and salt and pepper. Place ribs in slow cooker. Pour sauce over ribs, and turn to coat.
4.Cover, and cook on Low 5 hours, or until ribs are tender.

--2nd Method--:
Simply season the ribs with garlic salt, onion powder, and black pepper. place in the crock pot and cover the ribs with a half a bottle of any BBQ sauce of your choice and let cook for 6 hours on low

--Footnote--:
Remove the ribs carefuly from the pot when done cooking and brown ribs on grill or in oven to give a nice finishing color.
